It gives me great pleasure to write that Greentea Peng has today released her long awaited debut album, MAN MADE. It’s something that I have been looking forward to hearing since I first discovered her music a few years ago. The South East London-based artist’s debut album is a Reggae-inspired, psychedelic, soulful trip exploring modern society.
According to the Cambridge Dictionary man can also refer to, “a person or group that has power or authority” as a male. And it is this definition that Greentea Peng used when chosing her album title. “I’m talking hu man and wombman yes you man and me man , si WE man yes WE man,” she explains.
Greentea describes the album as, “my most personal body of work thus far.” She continues, “There is so much energy, deliberation, conflict, longing, love , war and peace wrapped up into this project.” It continues the vibes and messaging of her recent singles and is very much needed with all that’s going on in the world today.
The album includes “Nah It Ain’t The Same”, “Kali V2”, “Dingaling” and “Free My People” (featuring Simmy & Kid Cruise). MAN MADE is out now on Apple Music and Spotify, you can listen to it in full below.
