R&B singer and songwriter, Khalid has today release his latest project Scenic Drive. The star studded nine-track project includes features from Alicia Keys, 6LACK, Ari Lennox, Smino and JID amongst others. Khalid was at pains to point out that the star studded project is a mixtape and not an album. Judging by some of his earlier comments Scenic Drive will serve as an appetiser until he finishes working on his third studio album.
You’d be forgiven for thinking that this was an album, given the stature of the features and the quality of music. Highlights include the Kiana Ledé-assisted “Voicemail” and “Open” which features Majid Jordan. The mixtape includes the lead single “Present” which he released back in October. Regardless of what he may be going through, Khalid seems like such a chilled and laid back guy. Perhaps that’s as a result of the method of escaping the stresses of life that he mentions on “Retrograde”. Scenic Drive, is out now on Apple Music and Spotify, you can listen to it in full below.
