Dawn of Chromatica is remix project of Lady Gaga’s third studio album Chromatica. Her 2020 album featured electronic and Dance music centric production. Her remix album does the same but fully imerses itself within the genre.
This is the third time that Gaga has released a full remix project following 2010’s The Remix and 2011’s Born This Way: The Remix. It’s an interesting way to breathe new life into a project and perhaps a better way to do it than a deluxe version. At least this way we get new versions of the best songs an artist created for the album.
In this case there’s a host of interesting collaborators featured including Charli XCX, Pabllo Vittar, Arca, Rina Sawayama, Mura Masa and Oscar Scheller. There’s mixed results but the best thing about it is hearing the enlisted collaborator’s take on Gaga’s original.
