James Blake – Say What You Will (Video)

Having released an experimental EP last year, James Blake is back to announce his new album. His fifth studio album, Friends That Break Your Heart, will be released on 10th September and you can pre-save it here. The singer-songwriter and producer has also shared a video for album’s first single, “Say What You Will”.

“It’s about really finding peace with who you are and what you are,” James explains. “Regardless of how well other people seem to be doing,” he continues. The video co-stars Billie Eilish‘s brother and producer FINNEAS, whom James compares himself to.

The video ends with quote from Theodore Roosevelt, “Comparison is the thief of joy,” which sums up the sentiment of the song perfectly. “It doesn’t matter how successful or unsuccessful you are,” James says. “It never stops if you allow it to take hold of you. It doesn’t matter what level you are at,” he concluded. “Say What You Will” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
