ELLE YAYA explores her experience with mental health and addiction on her debut album, Pharmacy . “I chose the name Pharmacy because the process was medicinal,” explains ELLE. “You go to the pharmacy to get what you need, I needed each of these songs and the process of writing them to see that my life was totally unmanageable,” she notes. “I needed to get well,” she concludes.
The London-based singer songwriter is open and frank about the difficult time in her life without things getting too dark and gloomy. “Medicate” which is one the best tracls on the album is a key example of this.
