ELLE YAYA is an artist with a story to tell; she signed to Paul Epworth’s Wolf Tone label at the tender age of 15, she skipped university to head to London to pursue her dreams of becoming an artist. Being away from her friends and family proved to be difficult and she has spent the last year in recovery for drug and alcohol addiction and depression. Now the 23-year-old emerges stronger and wiser with her new single “Rich Bitch”, a song written during her chaotic days. Speaking about the song ELLE says, “the song evokes a time in my life where I literally did nothing. The most important part of my day was getting the ‘right shot’.” She concludes, “I was playing a character with a massive ego, but I had no self-esteem. I hated myself, so I roasted myself.” I’m glad to hear that ELLE is in a better place now. “Rich Bitch” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
