LA-based lo-fi emo artist JJ Shurbet, who records as Scruffpuppie, shares their emotive new single “paint”. The introspective, piano led ballad explores Scruffpuppie’s troubled relationship with drugs.
“My relationship with drugs was so one-sided,” Scruffpuppie reflects. The 20 year-old adds, “they controlled the other relationships I had in my life.”
Hopefully Scruffpuppie isn’t still as distressed as they seem to be in the video and this is something that they can brush away. “paint” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
