Southend-on-Sea-based band in earnest have today released their reasons to stay alive EP. The moving title of the project was inspired by Matt Haig’s book of the same name. in earnest say that it, “inspired us to talk so openly about mental illness.” They wrote the songs, “to document our personal highs and lows over the past couple of years.”

reasons to stay alive ‘s six-tracks flow seamlessly into one another to create a rather moving, 22-minute composition that loops back on itself.
