emie nathan reflects on life’s highs and lows on her new single “upstream”. I can’t even imagine what she must have felt having, “experienced skyrocketing personal highs and plummeting lows,” within 48 hours. “I had a birthday where I turned 24 years old, received news of my Platoon deal,” the singer-songwriter explains. “And then found out I had lost a family member who I was unable to see in person for the entire year,” she says. “Upstream describes the internal battle I had with myself,” emie concludes.
I am not quite sure whether she shot the video in reverse or whether it is shown in reverse. Eiether way, it came together nicely and looks awesome. “upstream” is emie’s second single following her debut last month with “noman”. I hope that she has healed or is on the way to healing from her loss. “upstream” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
