Eliza Legzdina has a background in opera (she was classically trained as an opera singer from the age of 3) and Baroque performance. It was while studying her music masters that her sound began to change. She now counts Joni Mitchell, Erykah Badu and Megan Thee Stallion amongst her biggest influences. Aswell as singing she is also a poet and DJ – is there anything she can’t do? Eliza’s new single “Tom & Jerry” is a brilliant introduction to her and her talents. “I wanted this track and the video to reflect how Women can want things to be casual too,” explained Eliza. “We are allowed to want what’s best for our careers and still want to have fun, intimacy and sex, and not choose between all of these things.” Eliza ‘s debut EP Iron Curtain, Golden Pussy, is due to be release in April via Band of Wolves and I can’t wait to hear it. “Tom & Jerry” is today’s Song of The Day, it’s also out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
