Australian artist and producer cln usually creates his music in reverse, starting with the instrumental first. He was recently inspired to take different approach to his songwriting when he watched a video of Daman Albarn making Gorillaz demos in 1999.
At the end of the video Damon says something along the lins of, “a song should be strong enough to survive whatever you do to it.” That had a big impact on cln who says, “that really stuck with me, and it made me realise that I should spend more time focusing on the ‘bones’ of the song.”
cln’s new single is proof that change isn’t always a bad thing and moving outside of your comfort zone can have positive results. “REVELRY” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
