I’ve never seen him play tennis but he should definitely stick with the music based on this track! “I threw myself head first into songwriting because it felt like the escape I desperately needed,” appleby reveals.
He wrote the song in the middle of the night so it’s only right that its visualiser was shot at night time too. “The writing process for Half Life was organic and borderline magical,” appleby recalls. “Much of the evening is blurry but I recorded it all in one night.”
It’s an upbeat, mystical mix of Funk, R&B and pop that is the kind of thing the inventor of the repeat button must have had in mind. “Half Life” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
