Clara Mann returns with “Thoughtless”, the follow up to her debut single and former Song of The Day “I Didn’t Know You Were Leaving Today”. Clara explains that when she wrote the song, “it was quite a lonely time, and I felt that, in a bid for some kind of connection, I was making myself vulnerable to the wrong people.” She adds, “Thoughtless is a recognition of that unhealthy tendency in myself, as well as being about the way people can take too much of someone, without even realising.”
The restrictions that have been enforced by Covid have bought new ways of working for many artists. Clara being one of them, she recorded this song alone in her bedroom and then the producer, Benjamin Spike-Saunders, mixed it in his. Clara and Ben then contributed to the song’s final arrangement remotely. Along with her new single the Bristolian has also revealed that she will be releasing her debut EP, Consolations, on February 24th. “Thoughtless” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
