Playboi Carti has today gifted his fans with his long awaited sophomore album, Whole Lotta Red. Unfortunately though, it is more like a Lynx Africa gift set than a PS5 or X Box Series X. The album was executive produced by Kanye West which probably had to with why it was delayed so much. It includes the lead single “Meh” as well as features from Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Future.
I am almost half way through it and at this point I can’t see why it is 24 songs long. It definitely wasn’t worth the wait. His new single “M3tamorphosis” includes the lyrics, “They can’t understand me, I’m talkin’ hieroglyphics,” and that sums up what I’ve heard so far. Most of his lyrics are intelligible, he sounds like a poor tribute act of his former self and Lil Uzi’s.
Whole Lotta Red is out now on Apple Music and Spotify, you can listen to it in full below.
