The Dawdler shares his latest single, the title track from his forthcoming Sign of Growth EP. The song was inspired by the short film ‘Dear Araucaria’, which tells the story of The Guardian’s crossword setter John Graham. He informed his dedicated followers know of his impending death through crossword clues – one of them being ‘sign of growth (6)’. “It destroyed me. The way Araucaria connected to his solvers. Deep bonds formed through codes and clues, never having met any of his devotees,” The Dawdler explains. “It’s just an utterly beautiful story. Needless to say, I love crosswords,” he concludes. The Dawdler’s Sign of Growth EP, will be released on November 20th via Akira Records. “Sign Of Growth” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
