WHO MADE THE SUNSHINE is 38 year old rapper Westside Gunn’s major label debut album. Remarkably it’s his third project of the year following Pray For Paris which was outstanding and his most recent mixtape FLYGOD is an Awesome God II. The album has some heavy weight features including Black Thought, Jadakiss, Slick Rick and Busta Rhymes. Of course fellow Griselda affiliates Benny The Butcha, Conway The Machine Boldy James and Armani Cesar also feature too. The album also includes production from Alchemist, Daringer, Beat Butcher, Just Blaze and Conducter Williams. It’s hard not to compare this to Pray For Paris and my initial impressions are that this isn’t quite on the same level. It’s still early yet though.
