South London based artist Yiigaa gets intimate on her new single “Closer”. It’s a vibrant, feel good, Afro Beat track that’ll sound good on club speakers. “Closer Is a song about empowerment. It’s about owning yourself, your emotions, and being in control,” Yiigaa explains. “It’s about things changing in life and people coming and going, but always wishing them the best,” Yiigaa concludes. She was always destined to be involed with music, her father is Ivorian musician Henri Gaobi. When younger she would write both her own and her favourite song lyrics over her body when she was bored to kill time. She also started going to festivals with her family from a young age, so it’s only right that she steps up to take centre stage now. “Closer” is taken from Yiigaa’s forthcoming EP, Inner Down, which will be released in the coming months. The song is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
