Plymouth based band The Native share their new single “Chasing Highs” which was inspired by the tragic passing of a local girl who died of a drug overdose. “You don’t often hear about events like this happening in our home town, especially with someone at such a young age” explains the band’s front man and guitarist Charlie Noordewier. “It really highlighted to us how a lot of the younger generations aren’t properly educated on these issues and how easy it is for someone so young to do something without thinking about the consequences,” he concludes. It is the first single to come from the The Native’s long studio stint before lockdown so we can look forward to hearing more from West Country band in the coming months. “Chasing Highs” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
