Since writing “Gold” a number of interesting things have happened to Jenny Banai. “I want this song to remind us all that we are broken to be formed,” says Jenny. She discovered kintsugi, a Japanese artistry in which pottery is broken into pieces and then mended back together with gold. Her grandmother also gifted her a pair of gold earrings, having bought them for her before hearing the song. This was also before Jenny posted about wanting, “dangliest of earrings for ears.” I’m not sure what kind of powers Jenny has but hopefully she can help me with some gold too ha ha. “Gold” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
