Playlist: Week 29 June 2016

This week’s playlist includes big names like Beyonce and Dizzee Rascal as well as rising stars such as Shura and new artists like the amazing Juan Calderon. There’s something for everyone here. Enjoy.

Alizzz – Better Than You (feat. Promnite, Santell, Iyeball)
“Better Than You” is a a brilliant bouncy House and Garage track from Barcelona based musician Alizzz. It’s the second single from his Ocean Drive EP which is out now. You can download “Better Than You” for free from Alizzz’s Soundcloud page.

Beyoncé – Sorry
“Sorry” is the first video to be released from Beyoncé’s visual album Lemonade. It’s a black and white video featuring Serena Williams and as you’d expect for a Beyonce video, lots of cool choreography. “Sorry” is out now on iTunes. Video directed by Kahlil Joseph & Beyoncé Knowles Carter.

Birdy – Words
Birdy released a video for her wonderful ballad, “Words” last week. The colourful video beautifully captures the mood of the song with Birdy it’s only star. Words” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify. Video directed by Bison.

Dizzee Rascal & Calvin Harris – Hype
Dizzee Rascal links up with Calvin Harris for “Hype” his new summer single. This has summer written all over it, expect to hear it alot over the coming months! You can listen to the full version of “Hype” now on Apple Music and Spotify.

Juan Calderon – Empire
“Empire” is taken from Dutch Singer/ Producer Juan’s debut EP JARA which is out now on Apple Music and Spotify. The sparse production and delicate guitar led melody provide the perfect backdrop for Juan’s beautiful vocals. Video shot by Rapresent (Ezra Elhorst).

Miguel – Come Through And Chill
“Come Through And Chill” is the perfect title for Miguel’s Salaam Remi produced new single. It’s a laidback track with a head bodding beat and sultry melody.

Shura – Make It Up
I’ve long been a fan of Shura’s music and latest single “Make It Up” is a perfect example why. It’s got her typical dreamy Pop sound while also having an Indie feel to it. Be warned – it’s a grower! “Make It Up” is taken from Shura’s debut album Nothing’s Real, which will be released on July 8th. “Make It Up” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.

TE dness – EU Referendum
TE dness’ reaction to Britain voting to leave the European Union. “EU Referendum” is out now on Spotify.

Terror Danjah Ft Jamakabi – Juicy Patty
London Grime producer Terror Danjah enlists former Rolldeep MC Jamakabi for new single “Juicy Patty”. The song features Jamakabi going in and merking Terror Danjah’s banging beat, hopefully the two release more music together. “Juicy Patty” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.

Tyler, the Creator remixed Zayn’s “Pillowtalk”
Interestingly Zayn Malik’s “Pillowtalk” was a down tempo, sensual R&B track. Tyler, the Creator remixed the song giving it an upbeat Funk transformation. Infact of the two version it’s Tyler’s that has more of a Pop feel to it. You can hear the remix below.
