Alternative-folk Singer-songwriter Cujo Moon explores the affects of addiction and mental health on “Watch You Shine”. The lyrics were inspired by a TV show, “where a father is estranged from his son due to years of drug use,” Cujo explains. But it stayed in his voice memos for months until he felt moved enough to finish it. “A super talented and long-time student of mine committed suicide at the age of 14,” he says. “It was a tragic event for everyone close to the family and I was completely torn up,” he concludes. It was only as a kind of “catharsis,” as he put it that he recorded the song after the tragedy. The single is taken from his upcoming EP, Bridges II, which will be released on the 26th March via Cujo Moon and Tone Tree Music. “Watch You Shine” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
