Northampton rapper slowthai has today released his self titled sophmore album, TYRON. The follow up to his brilliant debut album, Nothing Great About Britain, which he released in 2019. It includes the Skepta assisted “CANCELLED”, “MAZZA” featuring ASAP Rocky, “nhs” and “feel away” with James Blake & Mount Kimbie. “This album was created during a difficult time in my life,” he revealed. “I hope this album can be the light if you’re in the dark, and to know you’re not alone,” he added.
It contains two sides, the song titles on the first side are all capitalised. It contains darker, more aggressive songs, whereas the 2nd side is the opposite. I’m liking what I’ve heard but will need more time to fully digest it. Interestingly songs such as “ENEMY”, “MAGIC” and “BB (BODYBAG)” didn’t make the cut.
