Puma Blue has just announced that his long awaited debut album will be released on January 29th via Blue Flowers, you can pre-save it now on Apple Music. Along with the announcement he has a video for the albums lead single, “Velvet Leaves”, a soulful track that’s about a difficult time in his family’s lives. “In the summer of 2015, my sister attempted suicide. It was a lot to process personally and for us as a family,” the London based songwriter/producer explains. “I always wanted to deal with it in song but I never had the language, lyrically or musically, to grapple with such a complex issue,” he adds. Somehow though he found the strength and frame of mind to write about it. “I’d like to think it ended up being a hopeful song, about the beauty of the way she got through it, and we all got through it,” he concludes. “Velvet Leaves” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
