Lily Ward is a 20 year old British singer-songwriter well worth checking out, her new single “Winter Coat” is a fine example why. It’s an acoustic guitar led track about the joys of friendship that sounds lovely, it’s the audio form of a snug, warm coat on a cold winter day. “I wrote this song after I had fully processed leaving my friends when moving house for the first time when I was 18. Winter coat was the outcome,” Lily explains. “Winter coat is sort of like a metaphor for my friends always managing to make me feel better about the situation,” she says. “Winter Coat” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
