On her new single, “Trainwreck”, Lani Renaldo uses a chilled, guitar based pop tapestry to explore her experience with panic disorder. It’s an important release for the LA based artist as she explains, “if black artists are being represented, we’re typically pushed into hip hop & R&B categories… not as much rock, indie, or alternative.” She’s right and this is a fine example of just why we need more diversity. “Trainwreck”, the single details Renaldo’s own experience with panic disorder and how buying into society’s pressures of valuing success over happiness can be dangerous. “Trainwreck” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
