The Nottinghill Carnival is usually held on Bank Holiday weekend in August but had to be cancelled for the first ever time this year. Coronavirus put a stop to many things this year with carnival being one of them. Tycho Jones pays tribute the annual cultural celebration on his banging new single “Carni”. Speaking about the song Tycho says, “Carni is the one. It shows off everything that is amazing about London!.” He concludes, “all of London’s diverse multicultural communities coming together for Europe’s biggest street party. Carnival offers a true reflection of what it is to be a Londoner.” Much like carnival the song is a mesh of sounds and cultures, mixing cool, laid back dub Reggae with an energetic Drum and Bass sound and hints of Punk. “Carni” is today’s Song of The Day, out now on Apple Music as well as Spotify.
