Danish singer and producer Marie Dahlstrøm recently released her Safe PlaceEP via her own label, JFH Records. She wrote the project during the lockdown that was caused by the pandemic, while she was pregnant with her son. During this period, she temporarily moved back home to Denmark which allowed her to reflect on the things that matter most to her and her family.
“I wrote this EP during lock down. This was a special time in my life, where everything shifted in a way,” Marie says. “It gave me a lot of time to reflect about what really matters and just how lucky we are to be living and experiencing this life.” That comes through in the music, as the songs have a rather chilled vibe about them and Marie sounds like she’s really at peace.
The EP features regular collaborator Dan Diggas as well as Philadelphia rapper Dayne Jordan. Marie Dahlstrøm’s Safe Place EP is out now on Apple Music and Spotify, you can listen to it in full below.
