Proc Fiskal is the artist moniker of Edinburgh based experimental Grime producer, Joe Powers. He has just released his Lothian Buses EP which will be a precursor to his sophomore album, due later this year. It is named after Edinburgh-based public transport operator Lothian Buses and features random audio samples spliced between the leftfield Grime tracks.
Fiskal’s music is reminiscent of Grime’s heyday, it’s fresh and exciting while not trying to imitate what others have done. It would be so good if there’s a vocal version of this EP because I can name a heap of MCs that would sound good on these beats. Checkout his 2018 debut album, Insula, if you haven’t already – it was one of the standout albums that year.
