Having released one of 2019’s stand out albums, Little Simz returns with
Drop 6 EP. It’s the latest in her
AGE 101 Drop series of mixtapes, the last of which
Drop X was released in 2015. The EP almost didn’t happen after Simz hit a stumbling block, “my neighbour told me to turn the music down one day, he’s working from home,” she explained. “I asked what his hours were (trying to compromise). “9:30am – 6:30pm”, he said. He was cool with the noise after that time. I said ok,” she added. She became disheartened after that as she likes to work during the day and got back into photography instead. That led her to regain her confidence and finish the EP at the end of April – as she had planned. The EP’s artwork features a picture that was shot by Simz, so that’s a nice end to the story.
