Time for some new Roots Manuva. “Jah Warriors” is the first song taken from Roots Manuva and Wrong Tom’s new album, Duppy Writer, which is released in September. “Jah Warriors” comes with a big dose of vybes and is best enjoyed loud. “Jah Warriors” is available to download now from Amazon.co.uk Continue Reading

Weekly Catch Up: Week 33 2010
At least this week was an improvement on last week, when there was so little good music released so there wasn’t even a point of making a list of the best bits Weekly CatchUp™. Here’s this week’s dose since I don’t want you to be at risk of suffering malnutrition.. Klaxons Continue Reading
Skepta – Cross My Heart feat Preeya Kalidas
Skepta merked this. Simples. When this comes on in the club it’s gonna kill it. Even though it’s only two verses, Skepta goes in on the bars. “Bad Boy” and “Rescue Me” were good but quite simply, this is a winner. Oh and Amira from EastEnders (Preeya Kalidas) sounds good Continue Reading
Drake – What If I Kissed You
New Drizzy produced by StarGate, “What If I Kissed You”. It’s not one of Drake’s best songs, he just doesn’t sound at his best singing the whole song. I mean “Find Your Love”, was good but this just isn’t up to the mark.
Mavado – Jah Is Coming Soon (Badda Don Riddim)
Mavado shows a different side on his new single “Jah Is Coming Soon”. Although this kind of subject matter would normally warrant a Reggae beat, Mavado does well here to utilise the vybes that Yard Vybz Entertainment’s “Badda Don Riddim” brings. No idea when this will be released though.
Kanye West feat. Jay-Z & Swizz Beatz – Power (Remix) CDQ
You already know what I think of the original mix of “Power”. The remix is something else, you gotta love the way KanYe flips it. Doing things his own way and not compromising for how, “it’s usually done.” Seems ‘Ye bought out a more conscious Jigga on this one, the Swizz Beats Continue Reading
Wiley – Oh Shut Up
Not sure who produced this but it sounds like a Dexplicit beat. Wiley’s on form again, shame that it’s not the full version of the song though.
Ny feat Lioness – Need This (Hold You Remix)
You should already know about Gyptian’s “Hold You”, well now Ny and Lioness have done a remix of sorts. Let me tell you that it aint half bad, the girls definitely do their thing on this. A definite reminder of their skills, I don’t think that they’re rated enough.
Kanye West feat. Beyonce & Uncle Charlie Wilson – See Me Now (Prod. By Kanye West, No I.D. & Lex Luger)
I had big expectations for this, especially after all the hype. I mean Kanye West and Beyonce on the same track with production from Kanye, No I.D. and Lex Luger-this should have been the tombstone for competitors. “Power” is still getting heavy play on my mp3 player, but I really hope that Continue Reading
Tinie Tempah – Written in the Stars
I was in a club earlier this year and the DJ mixed “Pass Out” with “Frisky”, he was possibly the worst DJ I’ve heard in my life. Not just for the poor mix but for the weak selection of tunes all night. Anyways, Tinie Tempah is back with another sure winner, “Written in Continue Reading
