Justin Bieber feat. Kanye West & Raekwon – Runaway Love (Remix)

No this is not a joke. Justin Bieber actually does have a song featuring Wu Tang Clan's very own Raekwon The Chef and Kanye West! Even I am still tryna get my head around it. So it's true Justin Bieber is really singing over Wu Tang's classic "Wu Tang Aint Nothin To Fuck With". This is probably hands down winner of most unexpected line up for a song. Easily better than the original version of "Runaway Love".

DJ Green Lantern – Invasion Radio 2K10 (Mixtape)

DJ Green Lantern is back with his latest mixtape and as the intro says, "There's DJ's and there's DJ Green Lantern." Invasion Radio 2K10 features new music from Nas, Jay-Z, Fabolous and Kid Cudi amongst others along with production from DJ Green Lantern.

Have a listen above and download below if you like, IT'S FREE!

Rick Ross – Hard In The Paint Freestyle (Video)

You already know what I think of this beat/song and after Ciara jumped on the beat it's Rick Ross's turn to remix Wacka Flocka Flame's latest and greatest (yeah I said it!) "Hard In The Paint". Video directed by SpliffTV.

Dream Mclean, Random Impulse, Griminal & Lioness - No Hats No Trainers Cypher 3 (HD Video)

Following Cypher 1 and Cypher 2,we have Dream Mclean, Random Impulse, Griminal and Lioness in the latest edition of No Hats No Trainers' Cypher series. Gotta say that Griminal  definitely did his thing over Nas' "Blaze A 50" beat. His flow and content was the pick of the bunch.

Alesha Dixon - Drummer Boy (HD Video)

I can't help but think that this would make an ideal Funky House/UK Funky remix candidate. Especially considering the song name and subject matter. Any ways, I think it's safe to say that Alesha Dixon isn't talking about Black Milk or even Breakbeat UKSP in this song.

"Drummer Boy" is released on 5th Spetember and is available to Pre-Order from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

Faithless - Feelin Good feat. Dido (HD Video)

Here's something a little different, a video for a song that doesn't actually feature the artists involved. Faithless and Dido collaborated on a song and the result was "Feelin Good". The video for this collaboration doesn't actually feature Maxi Jazz, Dido or any other member of Faithless, instead the video features voodoo doll styled air fresheners in the form of Maxi and Dido. The video also doubles as an a Fiat advert and we will no doubt see a shortened version of the video on our screens soon. Thumbs up for the song, thumbs down for the video.

"Feelin Good" is taken from Faithless's new album, The Dance, and is available to download now from iTunes.

Faithless will embark on their UK tour, with support from Example, on 3rd November. Some of the venues they will be performing at include Bournemouth International Centre, MEN Arena Manchester, Metro Radio Arena Newcastle and SECC Glasgow. Tickets are available now from Ticketmaster, order early to avoid disappointment.

Diplo & Lil Jon - U Don't Like Me

Wow, this came as a complete surprise. Diplo and Lil' Jon collaborated and the outcome is the phenomenal "U Don't Like Me". There are things in life that you expect to happen or accept that there's a chance of happening, but Lil' Jon on Dubstep isn't one of them! THIS BEAT IS CRAZY.

"U Don't Like Me" is available to download now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

If you thought that was good then you need to hear the South Rakkas Remix!

Beenie Man - Wine Guh Down

Something new from Beenie Man, definitely made for gyal to wine to. Hearing "Wine Guh Down" in a dance is something I'm looking forwards to, shame I'm not going Notting Hill Carnival this year.

Tinie Tempah - Written In The Stars feat. Eric Turner (Video)

Tinie's onto a winner with his new song "Written In The Stars". The song follows his previous hits "Pass Out" and "Frisky" and is likely to replicate their charts success. Tinie has carved his own lane and brought his own style to the  mainstream Pop audience and it's definitely working (check his chart positions further proof). This one's a winner.

"Written In The Stars" is released on 27th September and is taken from Tinie Tempah's debut album Disc-Overy which will be released on October 4th which is available to Pre-order now from Amazon.co.uk.

Game, Jay Electronica, Swizz Beats and Bob Marley made something special

Devlin's new single featuring Yasmin was released

Devlin - Runaway feat. Yasmin

Devlin is not to be ignored, if you do not already know then I hope you know after hearing his new single "Runaway". Love the fact that he has retained his complex flow to his rhymes and yet still managed to make a song that should see him garner a good commercial reception. What's even better is that Devlin's music seems to be getting better; "Runaway" > "Brainwashed" > "Shot Music". Props to MistaJam who premièred "Runaway" on his show on BBC Radio 1.

The Game feat. Jay Electronica & Swizz Beatz - Higher

NEW YORK - JUNE 10: (U.S. TABS OUT) Rapper The Game appears onstage during MTV's 'TRL' on June 10, 2008 at MTV Studios in New York City. (Photo by Bryan Bedder/Getty Images)
WOW. Swizz Beatz killed it with the Bob Marley sample of "Iron, Lion, Zion" and as for the lyrics, WOIII! Game and Jay Electronica on the same track? Yes please!! Better yet this isn't even the final mastered version, the complete version of the track will also feature Nas! Plain and simply this needs to feature on Game's forthcoming album, The RED Album.

Mz Bratt - Selecta (HD Video)

Redlight's been busy behind the broads as of late, not only did he produced Ms Dynamite's "What You Talking About", but she also produced "Selecta" the newest tune from Mz Bratt. "Selecta" is kinda hard to define to any particular genre, it sounds like Dancehall mixed with Drum & Bass with a dash of Grime (if that makes any sense!). Nice of her to drop it just before Carnival. Video directed by Tim and Barry.

No idea on when "Selecta" is released, stay posted for more.

Kanye West feat. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Bon Iver & Nicki Minaj – Monster

Wow, Just let the line up on this track marinate before pressing play! "Monster" is the first song from Kanye's G.O.O.D. Friday offering, in which he will release a new song every Friday from his G.O.O.D. music camp. Oh it gets better, "Monster" is the second song from Jay-Z and Kanye West's forthcoming EP Watch The Throne. Guess the "Power (Remix)" was the first. For what it's worth Jay-Z has the best verse among this stella line up.

FREE DOWNLOAD: Kanye West feat. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Bon Iver & Nicki Minaj – Monster

Maxsta feat Big Shizz - On The Low (HD Video)

Maxsta  returns with the Bless Beats produced "On The Low", the first song to be taken from his FREE offering, The MaxstEP. One of the standout tracks on the EP, Maxsta proves once again that his is not just any Grime MC, he has the ability to write songs.

"On The Low" is taken from The MaxstEP which features production exclusively from Bless Beats and Target is available for FREE download below.

HD Video: Scorcher - It's My Time feat. Ed Sheeran (Acoustic)

Scorcher made an acoustic performance of his new single "It's My Time" with Ed Sheeran. There's something about Acoustic performances of songs that when done well they can even sound better than the original. This is one of those cases as was Tinchy Stryder's A64. Props to SB.TV.

"It's My Time" will be available to download from September 2nd on iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

T-Gully - Carnival Warmup Mix 2010 (Mixtape)

The August Bank Holiday weekend is fast approaching and that means that this year's Notting Hill Carnival is almost upon us. In celebration T-Gully has compiled a new mix of the biggest new UK Funky/Funky House tracks to get you in the mood for carnival. T-Gully's Carnival Warmup Mix 2010 includes the Roska remix to Katy B's new banger "On A Mission" as well as big tunes from Crazy Cousinz and Apple amongst others.

U-N-I - Black Sky (Video)

Something new from Y-O and Thurzday aka U-N-I. "Black Sky" is their latest single to be taken from their newest album, A Love Supreme 2.0 which is out now. This one gets the thumbs up not because the video features Playboy Bunny Model Felicia Gomez, but because it's a decent song-honest! Video directed by Jerome D.

"Black Sky" is available to download now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

Big K.R.I.T. - Somedayz (Video)

I wasn't really feeling Big K.R.I.T. until the his latest mixtape K.R.I.T. Wuz Here was Chopped N Screwed by Swishahouse's DJ Michael Watts. He's just one of those rappers that sounds better when Chopped N Screwed. Unfortunetly this is the normal version of his new freestyle over Souls of Mischief's classic "93 'till Infinity". Still its worthy of a listen and if you like it's also available for a FREE download below. Video directed by John Colombo.

Roots Manuva Meets Wrong Tom - Jah Warriors

Time for some new Roots Manuva. "Jah Warriors" is the first song taken from Roots Manuva and Wrong Tom's  new album, Duppy Writer, which is released in September. "Jah Warriors" comes with a big dose of vybes and is best enjoyed loud.

"Jah Warriors" is available to download now from Amazon.co.uk and Juno Download.

Brandon Flowers - Crossfire (Video)

So if I told you that the lead singer from The Killers has gone solo and has a new video for his new single featuring Charlize Theron kicking ninja butt, bet you wouldn't believe me! Well you'd better believe it. "Crossfire" is Brandon's debut solo single and not a bad one at that.

"Crossfire" is available to download now on iTunes.

Monday, 23 August 2010

Black Milk - Deadly Medley feat. Royce Da 5'9" & Elzhi (HD Video)

Boy am I glad Black Milk is back, especially after 2007's brilliant Popular Demand. I know that he released Tronic since but for me, Popular Demand was the one. What better MC's to join Milk on this than two Detroit heavyweights Royce Da 5'9" and Elzhi. Guess Black Milk's new album Album of The Year may even live up to it's ambitious title. Video directed by Gerard Victor.

"My sh*t is Martin Luther, yours is Martin Lawrence"-Black Milk

Diamond - Lotta Money (Video)

Before you ask, yeah I did listen to the song-I wasn't just watching the video. Diamond is supposed to be one of the new breed of lady MC's and judging by this I can see why. Tthink I first heard her on Ludacris's "My Chick Bad Remix", and "Lotta Money" is the first song that I've heard from her solo. Gotta admit that she's fine! Video directed by Dr. Teeth.

Dot Rotten, Calibar, Black the Ripper & Mz Bratt - No Hats No Trainers Cypher 2 (HD Video)

This was alot closer than Cypher 1. All MC's were strong in this cypher but you gotta be honest and say Mz Bratt's was the best verse. I was feeling Dot Rotten's verse but when you compare content and punchlines it has to go to Bratt.

Taken from series 2 of 'No Hats No Trainers' which returns to BBC 2 on 4th of September at 12.30pm.

No Hats No Trainers - Cypher 1 (HD Video)

Mayhem (SAS), Mystro, Mega (SAS) and Wretch 32 take part in a cypher over Kanye West's "Power" beat. They all go in and the flows are on point, but I gotta say Wretch 32 stand out on this one. Especially since he is considered to be more of a a Grime MC.

Taken from series 2 of 'No Hats No Trainers' which returns to BBC 2 on 4th of September at 12.30pm.

John Legend & The Roots - Wake Up Everybody Feat. Common & Melanie Fiona (Video)

The fact that John Legend and The Roots are working on an album together, entitled Wake Up, is exciting. The first single from that project is "Wake Up Everybody", which also features Common and Melanie Fiona as if The Roots and John Legend collaborating wasn't enough! Although I'm looking forward to Wake Up this rendition of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes Classic is not my favourite. Hopefully the following singles will be stronger. Video directed by Gil Green.

No word on a UK release date for "Wake Up Everybody" yet.

via MWP

Drake - Miss Me feat. Lil Wayne (Video)

One of the best songs from Drake's album, Thank Me Later, finally gets released as a single "Miss Me". Upon hearing the song for the first time earlier this year I knew that this had to be a future single. Weezy delivers as usual, shame about his part in the video because this is probably Drake's best video so far. Even if the visuals do look very similar to "Over". In case you're wondering about the Bun B feature on Drake's verse, that's because this song was originally a Drake and Bun B collaboration. Video directed by Anthony Mandler.

"Miss Me" is available to download now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

Weekly Catch Up: Week 33 2010

At least this week was an improvement on last week, when there was so little good music released so there wasn't even a point of making a list of the best bits Weekly CatchUp™. Here's this week's dose since I don't want you to be at risk of suffering malnutrition..

Klaxons have a new song, have a new song

Roll Deep released a free mixtape to celebrate the release of their new single (congrats on the number 1 lads)

Love Never Dies according to Caspa & Mr Hudson

Kanye West enlisted Jay-Z & Swizz Beats for the remix to his new single "Power"

Ms Dynamite doesn't have a clue about what you're talking about

Griminal and Maxsta joined together to form a new a lyrical beast called Grimsta

Skepta's new single "Cross My Heart" got it's first play on radio

Katy B's "On A Mission" and destined to climb the charts

Katy B - Katy On A Mission (HD Video)

Easily one of the best songs out right now. Written by Katy B, Geeneus and Benga, this is something special..

"On A Mission" is available to download now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk, support good music!

Skepta - Cross My Heart feat Preeya Kalidas

Skepta merked this. Simples. When this comes on in the club it's gonna kill it. Even though it's only two verses, Skepta goes in on the bars. "Bad Boy" and "Rescue Me" were good but quite simply, this is a winner. Oh and Amira from EastEnders (Preeya Kalidas) sounds good too.

Drake – What If I Kissed You

LOS ANGELES, CA - JUNE 27: Actress Nia Long presents the awards for Best Male Hip Hop Artist to Drake during the 2010 BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on June 27, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images)
New Drizzy produced by StarGate, "What If I Kissed You". It's not one of Drake's best songs, he just doesn't sound at his best singing the whole song. I mean "Find Your Love", was good but this just isn't up to the mark.

Griminal feat. Maxsta - Grimsta (HD Video)

Griminal and Maxsta follow up thier "East London Is Back Remix" with a collab for what is probably the best track from Griminal's FREE mixtape Grimsom. Z Dot killed it with the production then Griminal and Maxsta simply merked it. The flows are so on point on this. Video directed by Red Rock Uncut.

Redlight feat Ms Dynamite - What You Talking About (Video)

WOII! Ms Dynamite is back. I know that she's released "Wile Out" with DJ Zinc earlier this year, but I wasn't a fan of that. There's no denying "What you talking about" is a SMASH. Hope that she's working on her own full length project because UK music is experiencing one of it's best periods, so it would be a prime moment for her to release an album.

"What You Talking About" is released on 30th August and is available to Pre-order now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

Mavado - Jah Is Coming Soon (Badda Don Riddim)

Mavado shows a different side on his new single "Jah Is Coming Soon". Although this kind of subject matter would normally warrant a Reggae beat, Mavado does well here to utilise the vybes that Yard Vybz Entertainment's "Badda Don Riddim" brings. No idea when this will be released though.

Mr Silva & C Don - 10 Outta 10 (HD Video)

This one is a vybsers. It's far from being a persie, but it would sound good in a dance. Lyrics are simple, concept is simple, what more can I say? Boy I'd love to be back in Malia just now...

Kanye West feat. Jay-Z & Swizz Beatz – Power (Remix) CDQ

NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 18: Jay-Z and Kanye West arrive at GQ Magazine's 50th Year Celebration party at Cedar Lake on September 18, 2007 in New York City. (Photo by Rob Loud/Getty Images)
You already know what I think of the original mix of "Power". The remix is something else, you gotta love the way KanYe flips it. Doing things his own way and not compromising for how, "it's usually done." Seems 'Ye bought out a more conscious Jigga on this one, the Swizz Beats segment was interesting.

Wiley - Oh Shut Up

Not sure who produced this but it sounds like a Dexplicit beat. Wiley's on form again, shame that it's not the full version of the song though.

Griminal - Grimsom (Mixtape)

Ok, let me just say you need this. Griminal's Grimsom mixtape contains THAT "East London Is Back Remix", as well as production by Dot Rotten, Danny Weed, JME and Nocturnal. Dot Rotten and Z Dot definetley did their thing with the beats and as for Griminal, the boy went in on these beats.

FREE download link and track list below..

Ghetts - Grime Daily (HD Video)

Ghetts is back with the newest single from his The Calm Before The Storm mixtape. It's probably Grime's equivelant to Dead Prez's "Hip Hop" the way people have been going on about it. Video directed by Chas Appeti.

"Grime Daily" is available to download now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

Ny feat Lioness - Need This (Hold You Remix)

You should already know about Gyptian's "Hold You", well now Ny and Lioness have done a remix of sorts. Let me tell you that it aint half bad, the girls definitely do their thing on this. A definite reminder of their skills, I don't think that they're rated enough.

Wednesday, 18 August 2010

Trey Songz - Bottoms Up feat. Nicki Minaj (Video)

Trey Songz is back with, "Bottoms Up", the first song from his new album Passion, Pain & Pleasure. It's certainly one for the ladies and it's certainly one the club. As usual Nicki Minaj does her thing with her guest verse. There isn't any female rapper that is even touching her at the moment. Video directed by Anthony Mandler.

Caspa & Mr Hudson - Love Never Dies (Back For The First Time) HD Video

Didn't know what to expect after pressing play. As soon as I saw Caspa's name I expected it to be Dubstep, but have to admit that I didn't think it would be until I passed the drop. WOI!! This is big. What a pleasant surprise. Video directed by Mo Ali.

"Love Never Dies (Back For The First Time" is available to download now from iTunes.

Lloyd Banks – Any Girl feat. Lloyd (Video)

"Any Girl" is the second single from Lloyd Banks's Hunger For More 2 album which will be released later this year and follows on from his previous street hit, "Beamer, Benz or Bentley". It's been a while since Llyod Banks had this kinda buzz and it will be interesting to see if the momentum carries through to record sales. Video directed by Jesse J Smith.

"Any Girl" is available to download now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

Roll Deep - Say No More (Mixtape)

For all those that wanted a bit of the classic Roll Deep entourage sound, have no fear-Roll Deep is back. In the same week that the boys' UK number 1 chart contending new single "Green Light" was released, they have released a FREE mixtape, Say No More. The mixtape includes the "Name Drop remix" amongst other bangers.

Don't forget to go and support Roll Deep's new single "Green Light" which is out now and help them get their second UK Number One! "Green Light" is avaialble to download now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

Tracklist and FREE download link below..

Giggs - Hustle On (Video)

Giggs is back with his a new video for his latest song to be taken from his album, Let Em Ave It. Gotta admit that I was surprised that this is getting released as a single ahead of "Up, Up And Away". If you haven't already then get your hands on Giggs's album, Let Em Ave It.

"Hustle On" is available to download now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

Sunday, 15 August 2010

Klaxons - Echoes (Video)

I've heard of the Klaxons, but have never heard any of their music. On a first listen, they're a good band and well  worth a listen if like me, you are not familiar with thier work. Have to admit that the video reminds me a of The Killers' "Human" video though.

"Echoes" is available to download now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

Thursday, 12 August 2010

HD Video: Panic Attract - The Wrong Place (The Helmholtz Resonators Remix)

After posting "Moonlight Loveleytime", the new song from The Helmholtz Resonators, I was sent a song from Panic Attract. Even though the song title may suggest so, they did not send it to "The Wrong Place". I love it when I come across good music that I may have otherwise not had the pleasure of listening to. Video directed by Tim Garratt.

"The Wrong Place" is available to download now from iTunes, so support good music!

If you thought that was good, then I've saved the best 'till last. The Helmholtz Resonators remixed "The Wrong Place" and it is available for a FREE download below!

The Cool Kids – Gold Links (HD Video)

The Cool Kids are back with a video for "Gold Links" taken from their Gone Fishing Mixtape. Kind of a strange time to drop this video when Tacklebox has been released since Gone Fishing and is better than it's predecessor. Video directed by Michael Sterling Eaton.

Wednesday, 11 August 2010

Katy Perry - Teenage Dream (Video)

Granted that alot of you will not want to give this a chance, but I guarantee that alot of you can relate to the lyrics. Katy is onto a winner and if the next single is strong she should be a able to secure a platinum plaque, US sales alone. "California Girls" went number one States side and in the UK (I still can't understand why), so this should do well.

"Teenage Dream" is released on August 30th via iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

Kanye West feat. Beyonce & Uncle Charlie Wilson – See Me Now (Prod. By Kanye West, No I.D. & Lex Luger)

I had big expectations for this, especially after all the hype. I mean Kanye West and Beyonce on the same track with production from Kanye, No I.D. and Lex Luger-this should have been the tombstone for competitors. "Power" is still getting heavy play on my mp3 player, but I really hope that "See Me Now" isn't on Kanye's album.

FREE DOWNLOAD: Kanye West feat. Beyonce & Uncle Charlie Wilson – See Me Now (Prod. By Kanye West, No I.D. & Lex Luger)

Iyaz - So Big (Video)

Gotta admit that I wasn't really feeling the last single "Solo", on your own mate, but this is kinda a return to form. "So Big" will blatantly get alot of play in main rooms up and down the country, and although it's not my favourite song there's alot more songs that I'd rather hear when out.

"So Big" is available to download now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

Tinie Tempah - Written in the Stars

I was in a club earlier this year and the DJ mixed "Pass Out" with "Frisky", he was possibly the worst DJ I've heard in my life. Not just for the poor mix but for the weak selection of tunes all night. Anyways, Tinie Tempah is back with another sure winner, "Written in the Stars". It's almost as if he knew about the success that's about to come, by giving a song that title. So for that lazy DJ, here's a song to stick between those two other Tinie Tempah tracks!

"Written In The Stars" is released on 27th September and is taken form Tinie Tempah's debut album Disc-Overy, which is to be released later this year.

M.I.A. - XXXO (HD Video)

It's finally here M.I.A.'s video directed by Hype Williams for her new single "XXXO". Let me just say, that girl looks good in this video! While it's a good video, it's no "Born Free" (but most videos aren't either!).

"XXXO" is taken from M.I.A.'s new album /\/\/\Y/\ (MAYA) and is avaialble to download now from Amazon.co.uk and iTunes. Don't forget there's also the "XXXO Remix" featuring Jay-Z.

Tuesday, 10 August 2010

Bashy - Fantasy (HD Video)

Bashy's new single "Fantasy" samples Baby D's rave classic "Let Me Be Your Fantasy" and has SMASH HIT written all over it. The video's not half bad either, it features a guest appearance from Preeya Kalidas (Amira Shah from Eastenders) and is set on a desert island. Produced by Devon Kosoko.Video directed by Andy Hylton.

"Fanstasy" is released on 19th September.

Monday, 9 August 2010

Mighty Moe feat Wiley - Old Skool Daze (HD Video)

This song has all the ingredients to suggest that it should do well when released. A good beat, big artists (The Heartless Crew's Mighty Mo, Wiley and production by Smasher) and a decent hook. Good to see that Wiley actually turned up for the video shoot for "Old Skool Daze". Video directed by Adam Awni.

"Old Skool Daze" is released on August 30th and will be available to download from Amazon.co.uk.

Sunday, 8 August 2010

Video: Erykah Badu feat. Rick Ross – Window Seat (Remix) & Turn Me Away (Get MuNNY)

Rick Ross's remix to Erykah Badu's "Window Seat" finally gets its own video. Although it's more like a short film, which is like alot of videos lately. Erykah Badu also featured on Rick Ross's "Maybach Music 3"  and this all seems to be the result of Ross's remix to "Window Seat". Even though he wasn't involved in the original song writing process, Rick Ross seems totally at home on this beat which allows his slow flow to shine. Video directed by Erykah Badu.

Erykah Badu's new album New Amerykah Part 2 is out now and available to download from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk.

Weekly Catch Up: Week 31 2010

There was alot of new music released last week, so let me give you the highlights some Weekly CatchUp™ to ensure that you don't miss any of the good stuff...

Wiley and MJ Cole have a new banger

T Gully released a new Funky House mixtape full of the best new riddims

Roll Deep showed that they've got a bag full of Swagger

Wale dropped a new mixtape "More About Nothing"

Hard House Banton made a Funky House remix to Yolanda Be Cool's "We Speak No Americano"

Eminem's new video for his new single "Love The Way You Lie" featured both Rihanna and Megan Fox!

Devlin - SB.TV F64 (HD Video)

The opening bars to this F64 freestyle set the tone for the rest of Devlin's verse ," Don't think cos I just been signed, I aint still the most venomous Grime MC." This is a reminder of what Devlin is capable of, for those that forgot. He has one the best flows in Grime and it's best enjoyed when it's at its most complex.

Don't forget that Devlin's new single "Brainwashed" is available to download now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk!

Saturday, 7 August 2010

Akala feat. Sway, Lowkey & Black The Ripper - Yours and My Children Remix

WOW. Let me just say that this is probably one of the best remixes that I have heard this year. The line up is on point and they all do their thing on this beat but Sway KILLED IT, simples.

The original version to "Yours and My Children" is available to download now from iTunes and Amazon.co.uk and is taken from Akala's new album Double Think.

Akala will also be performing alongside Dead Prez, Sway and Skinnyman at the HMV Forum on 30th August, tickets are available from Ticketmaster.

Kanye West - Power (HD Video)

Hmmm...you already know that I love this song so I was waiting to see what the music video would come out like especially since Kanye's videos are normally quite good. To call this a music video may not be right (watch and you'll understand what I mean), Kanye calls it a "moving painting." This format would be more suited to an an advert than a music video, but I do like what director Marco Brambilla has done with "Power" and the angle he's taken.

Friday, 6 August 2010

S.A.S - Complete (Video)

Kinda a different direction from S.A.S. for their new single "Complete". This is probably the first song like this that I've heard from them. I gotta admit that I prefer their normal style of music, but I don;t think that "Complete" is aimed at lads so that's no surprise. "Complete" was produced by Benno Calmbach and is taken from S.A.S.'s forthcoming album Galaxy Fly which will be released later this year.

Eminem - Love The Way You Lie feat. Rihanna (HD Video)

Megan Fox and Rihanna in the same music video? Guess Eminem is the only artist that could manage that. The video also stars Dominic Monaghan (Lord of The Rings) and is more like a short film than a music video. Not because of its length but because the story is so well told and the fact that it's done in such a cinematic way. No idea who directed the video but they did an excellent job.

Big H - Alarm (HD Video)

Glad that I watched this all the way through, as it didn't start off too well. But after the intro song finished and "Alarm" started things got better. H has been hyping the much delayed Fire & Smoke and there's big expectations on the forthcoming mixtape,  let's just hope that it meets expectations. Shame "Hooligans Remix" didn't get a video. Yolanda Be Cool - We No Speak Americano (Hard House Banton Remix)

Chances are that you've already heard Yolanda Be Cool's current UK number 1, "We No Speak Americano". the record is big, I think I must be one of the few people that doesn't really like it. Hard House Banton has had a go at remixing the pop hit and made it a little more enjoyable than the original.

Mr M - Dash Down (HD Video)

Here's something that you're bound to hear pon the dancefloor if you're at a Funky dance or on one of the summer party islands, "Dash Down". There's alot of artists with big vocal songs in Funky House, but even fewer artists have managed to make a succession of good songs. If the genre is to grow then it will need artists will need to be more like Man Utd and less like Blackburn. No word on a release date, enjoy the video for now.

Wale - More About Nothing (Mixtape)

Wale finally dropped the follow up to his mixtape classic, The Mixtape About Nothing, today. The original is where I first recall hearing Wale and after that I was a fan. When his debut album, Attention Deficit, didn't achieve the commercial success he deserved I was disappointed but here's something to suffice till the next one. The uninitiated can have a sample/listen below before downloading.

Game & DJ Skee – Brake Lights (Mixtape)

With only four months since his last mixtape, Red Room, Game is back with a new mixtape with DJ Skee, Brake Lights. You've gotta love his work rate, especially with an album dropping soon. Notable features include Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Nas and Akon. Get it while it's hot!

The Helmholtz Resonators - Moonlight Lovelytime (Video)

I'll admit that I'm no expert on rock music (or any of it's sub genres), but I do know good music when I hear it. "Moonlight Lovelytime" is the first song that I've heard from The Helmholtz Resonators and look forwards to hearing more if this is the standard. "Moonlight Lovelytime" is taken from The Helmholtz Resonators new album Crsytal Submarine which is out now and limited to only 500 copies.

"Moonlight Lovelytime" is available to download now on iTunes.

Diddy feat Skepta - Hello Good Morning (Grime Remix)

Yeah you read that right, Diddy on a Grime remix! After asking who he should recruit to remix "Hello Good Morning" on twitter, Skepta was announces as the unanimous winner. Given that we haven't heard that many US artists on Grime and the fact that the original is quite good this was highly anticipated. Gotta admit, Skepta did his thing on this!

Dot Rotten - R64 / Rotten64 (HD Video)

Dot Rotten begins this F64 by saying "this bars kinda complex, make sure you listen," and boy was he right about that! He was also right when he ended the verse by saying, "I bet you reload this and watch it again." The flow and bars are fast and at times it's a bit off but that's a given when the flow is so complex. Another reminder that Dot Rotten is not just another Grime MC. Video directed by SB.TV
